Azorean Dream
Between Gesture and Landscape
#Sept 27th 2025 to Jan 11th 2026 at Romanti Cultura, Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores
From the silence of gesture to the heat of the kiln, Maria Castel-Branco's ceramics are born as a tactile memory of nature and sight. In this exhibition, the artist presents 50 ceramic pieces and 10 watercolors inspired by a trip to the Azores, where the landscape revealed itself from the sea.
Her organic forms, sometimes delicate, sometimes rough, reveal marks of time, textures of rock, the trace of the wind, the sparkle of water, and the unexpected bursts of flowers in the landscape. Here, ceramics do not imitate nature—they extend it, translating into sensory forms what the eyes retain and the heart transforms.
Each work is a gesture and a sharing: handmade, with patience and dedication, it carries with it the natural imperfection of true things. More than objects, these pieces are fragments of an experience, made to touch, welcome, and awaken in the public an intimate connection with the poetry of the world.
Azorean Dream is a journey of senses and emotions, an invitation to contemplation and dreaming.
