An immense ocean of untouched forest.

The profusion of shades of green is so breathtaking. All those leaves capture the colours violet, red and blue in a different length of light, offering me this spectacle.

Often does my heart embody the rythm of emotions. And this one has particularly strong tones and nuances.

I wonder who created so many beautiful limbs, margins and cutouts.

I wonder if I did...

Ceramist Maria Castel-Branco created a collection of ceramic pieces inspired by a recent trip to Southeast Asia and its lush vegetation, called Chlorophyll.

The exhibition is presented as a botanical illustration book, collecting species, shapes and textures.

Maria Castel-Branco's romantic connection to Nature is clear throughout her work, but it gains special expression in this show where each leaf is unique, imperfect and pure!

"Chlorophyll" was present at Loja & Galeria da Pura Cal, Lx Factory, Lisbon, from 9 June to 12 July 2020.
